East Coast Director of Operations
Stephanie Carre
General Manager Stephanie Carre brings more than 25 years of hospitality experience to the helm of Dirty Habit DC.
A native of Washington D.C., Stephanie got her start in the restaurant industry as a high school student. She progressed through fast-paced, high-volume restaurants with ease and quickly realized she’d found her passion. Following graduation, she pursued a career in hospitality and set her sights on fine dining. She gained extensive food, wine and spirits knowledge as a server and bartender in several local establishments, including Houston’s Restaurant in Georgetown, Capitol City Brewing Company—D.C.’s first brewpub since prohibition, and the upscale Hotel Washington. Rising through the ranks, Stephanie added Shift Supervisor to her resume at Georgetown’s The Harbor Club Restaurant & Lounge, and later became the Director of Special Events and Private Dining Captain at 2941 Restaurant in Falls Church, VA. Under her helm, the Modern French and American Restaurant was voted as having the “Best Private Dining Rooms” by Washingtonian Magazine.
Prior to joining Dirty Habit DC, Stephanie made her mark at D.C.’s fine dining destinations, Butterfield 9, and the local landmark, The Occidental, located just a few steps from The White House and known for catering to presidents and local tastemakers. She spent nearly fifteen years perfecting her craft at The Occidental as Director of Private Events, Senior Event Manager and eventually General Manager. In 2021, Stephanie accepted the position as General Manager of Dirty Habit DC where she strives to delight guests with seasonally-inspired, global cuisine and elevated cocktails set in the unique atmosphere of the iconic 1841 General Post Office. As a mother of three, two daughters and a son, Stephanie spends her free time with her family, which also includes two fur babies, a pit bull named Gracie and a black cat named Arlo. Since her father was a Washington Football Team season ticket holder for 50 years, she continues the tradition and also catches football games whenever she can.
